Welcome to our wikispace, created at the beginning of the Language on Film Project - a partnership between Routes into Languages East, Comberton Village College and the Cambridgeshire Film Consortium - last year at Routes into Language East, Anglia Ruskin University.

The project (and competition) were launched and supported at Anglia Ruskin University with a course delivered by Sarah Gibson Yates of the Communication and Media Studies Department. Now in its third year it's supported by a DVD created from the training which was compiled by Leigh McClelland of Comberton Village College as well as the revamped Teachers Pack, originally developed by Jane Driver also of CVC, now of Hinchingbrooke School. The DVD was sent to every school in the Region (but there are more copies available, if you can't find yours). A copy of the updated Teacher's Pack for 2012/13 can be found here: .

This is the place to come, if you want to keep tabs on what's happening with the project or you just want to chat about what's going on with it generally - or even check what went on last year...

It all started when Rachel Hawkes woke up at 4.00 one morning (as one does) with the great idea of creating language materials for films for KS3. She brought the idea to us at Routes into Languages East (see resources at www.routesintolanguages.ac.uk/east/resources). We had a meeting to discuss it, and the idea for a film competition with film-making training for KS3 developed from there (and the rest - as they say - is history...)
